About the event
Please join us as we head south to Jeonju Hanok Village. It’s about a 2 hour drive and we will meet outside the Anjeong-ri Gate (Walk-in gate)
This is a great trip if you are new to Korea and want to familiarize yourself with some uniquely Korean experiences.
We will stroll around and enjoy the beautiful hanok houses, shops and eateries. There is the opportunity to rent the traditional Korean hanbok dresses, hire a three seater tuk-tuk, visit the numerous themed museums such as the soju or fan museum, see hanji paper making or try your hand at some handi-crafts. Jeonju is a very popular place with young Koreans who come to dress up, visit “selfie studios” and take photos with their friends so it’s also good for people watching.
Jeonju is known as the home of the dish Bibimbap so is strongly recommended for lunch and there are also several places to buy delicious choco pies.
Jaman Mural Village is a short stroll away over the river and the Nambu market is also nearby, although this is predominantly a night market. The area also includes a number of picturesque walks and a 400 year old Ginko Tree!
The practical stuff: Wear comfortable shoes, bring won for lunch and activities. We will stop half way for a snack/bathroom break on the way down and on the way back. Traffic can be unpredictable but our aim will be to be back by 1900 at the walk-in gate but cannot be guaranteed.
No REFUNDS! If something happens and you cannot use your seats, the HUC cannot refund your money. You are welcome to post to this page to sell your seats directly to another interested party. Please notify the trip organizer if you do this.
