Please join us in preparing a beautiful Moon Jar (Dalhangari) using traditional Korean Mossi fabric. The moon Jar is named for its round shape resembling the moon. It symbolizes abundance and blessings, represents wishes for prosperity and family harmony and embodies traditional Korean sentiment and artistry. During the class you will decorate a white ramie jar with Buddha's image or 5 colors symbolizing diligence with blue, wisdom with yellow, compassion with red, purity with white, and patience with orange. This class will offer you a meaningful opportunity to express your aspirations and reflect on a genuine and mindful life through your artistic creation.
The class will be taught at the HUC (bldg 118) by Ms. Lee Chungsil, who is known worldwide for teaching traditional Korean Handicrafts and natural dyeing at various cultural centers and for her displays in cities like New York, Chicago and Osaka. The class is limited t…
